Info
Hashi (Hashiwokakero, or Bridges) is a Japanese logic puzzle, and there are many places to play it. Here are three things you won't find together anywhere else:
- Play with other people. Race friends or strangers on the same puzzle, solve one together in co-op, or split one phone between two players. Rated races put you on the leaderboard.
- Hidden pictures. A puzzle made by a player can hide a picture in its bridges. You only see it once you solve the puzzle, when it spreads across the board.
- Make your own. The level editor checks your puzzle while you build it, so what you publish always has exactly one solution. Then you paint the picture that players get when they solve it.
Every puzzle here, from Easy to Expert, is checked by the solver to have exactly one answer, and you can always solve it by logic alone, without guessing.
Every circle is an island, and its number says how many bridges it needs. Draw bridges between islands in a straight line, across or down. Bridges never cross each other or an island, at most two join the same pair, and in the end every island must be connected into one group.
Tap the gap between two islands, or drag from one towards the other, to add a bridge. Do it again for a second bridge, and once more to clear them. On Hard and Expert puzzles, double tap an island to fill its only open neighbour.
Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert say which solving tricks a puzzle needs. Easy ones fall to simple counting; Expert ones need you to look several moves ahead. The small number on each level is its difficulty score within the label.
A hint shows one bridge that must (or must not) be there, and Why? walks you through the reasoning on the board.
The stat in the toolbar can tell you how you're doing while you play: Solvable (yes or no), Count (how many bridges are wrong), or Highlight (marks them).
Using either counts as help: your time still goes on the level's board, but not on the unassisted one.
Yes. Split draws a line across the board so each of you takes a half. For playing on separate devices, start a room.
Press New room on the front page. In a race, everyone gets the same puzzle and the fastest finisher wins. In co-op, two players solve one puzzle together.
Public rooms are listed on the front page for anyone to join; private ones are joined with their link or code.
Rated races change your rating: beating stronger players moves it more. A ? after a rating means it is still settling, because you've played only a few rated races. The host decides whether a race is rated.
No. As a guest, your results, rooms and puzzles are kept on this device. Signing in keeps them on every device, and whatever you did as a guest moves into your account.
Use Create in the top bar. Draw the bridges and the numbers add up by themselves, or type in the numbers and let the solver find the bridges. The editor checks the puzzle as you go and saves it to your account. If a puzzle has more than one solution, it shows you where, so you can add, move or remove islands there.
To start from a drawing or a photo, use Image: the editor turns it into coloured squares and shows it faintly under the board, so you can build the puzzle around it. Once the puzzle has exactly one solution, Decorate lets you paint the picture players see when they solve it. You can colour the squares, bridges and islands, round off corners, and draw lines between islands. Preview plays the reveal as a player will see it.
A puzzle with exactly one solution can be published: it joins Made by players under Play. Published puzzles can't be changed. You can unlist one, so it leaves that list but its link keeps working, and you can delete it while nobody else has played it.
Yes. Add the site to your home screen and the level packs play without a connection. Rooms, scoreboards and the editor's checks need one.
Only what the game needs. See the privacy page for the details, and how to get a copy of your data or delete it.
